In Part 1: Learn the basics of Crochet while you start to create a unique project. Students will learn single crochet and double crochets stitches while starting a project. In Part 2: Continue learning about Crochet while you create a unique project. Students will learn the half double crochet stitch and working in the round while starting a project. All students are welcome, whether you are learning crochet for the first time or solidifying your crochet knowledge. Winter Cardinal Woodcarving Class

Join woodcarver Joe Hauger to learn how to carve a winter cardinal ornament. We'll introduce the best and safest knife stroke techniques as well as get the chance to try different carving knives. We'll briefly touch on topics including carving "with the grain," how to keep the knife sharp, and painting techniques. Knives and gloves provided by the instructor, but feel free to bring your own carving tools. ("Flat plane" style carving knives will work best.) Students will get to take home a completed carved and painted winter cardinal. This class is open to all adults and minors 12 & older if accompanied by an adult. (The adult wouldn't need to pay if he/she does not carve.) |
Let's Make Pasta!

Explore the art of dialogic reflection, a practice of deep listening, shared storytelling and personal insight. The workshop will center on self inquiry, self love, self respect, and self care to understand and express who we are even better. And as an extension of all beings, you'll be able to better understand others. You will leave the workshop having identified a formative life experience, distilled the lesson that it carried, and begun drafting a chapter for your book of life. Registration required |
The Art of Leather Tooling

Students will build and tool a stand for a cell phone with a choice of 4 tooling designs. An additional $15. materials fee includes 1 ½ sq of 8-10 oz veg tan leather, 8 brass rivets, and one yard waxed thread. Tools will be provided, and some kits will be available for sale. |
Gelli Plate Printing and Mixed-Media Art

Understand color layering, texture, and composition by exploring color harmony and contrast in collage papers. Using additional metallics, transparencies and distress effects you will create final mixed-media pieces to take home. This class will include techniques including: • Basic monoprinting technique with acrylics on a gelli plate. • Using stencils, texture tools, and household objects to create unique designs using stamps, mark-making and resist techniques.. • Layering colors and ghost printing for depth. • Printing on different paper types for varied effects. |
Clay Date Night

Fee includes clay, firing and glazing. No experience needed. Bring your favorite drink and a positive vibe for a memorable night! Work will be finished with your choice of glaze or you can join us on a Wednesday Open Studio and do your own glazing. 18+ Things you need to know: This is messy work, so wear clothing you don't mind getting dirty. We have aprons and towels available for use. Short nails are best for beginners working with clay on the wheel. We have nail clippers if you need to chop your claws. |

Join the Shrub Club Class

July 10, 10-11:30 am $25./$30. Member/Non-Member $20./$25. Member/Non-Member Early Bird (before June 26) Create a refreshing non-alcoholic fruit cocktail using local strawberries, and other fruits. The word shrub is derived from the Arabic word sharab, which means “to drink.” Combine the shrub with club soda and you will have a perfect summer beverage. Alcohol can be included in a drink combination. After learning about the technique of combining fruit, sugar, and vinegar to compose a shrub, you will be able to experiment with your own ideas. Bring your own strawberries, rhubarb, or other fruit if desired. Total incubation time is about 48 hours before your shrub is ready. Sample shrubs will be served at the class. Recipes, ingredients, and jars are included. |

Himmeli Ornament Class

Saturday, May 17 12-3 pm $15. Celebrate your scandinavian roots by making a himmeli ornament from local papyrus grass. In Finland these geometric shapes are made from rye straw, but we have a perfect material right in our wet ditches and swamps. You will learn how to assemble these stalks into octahedrons using thread and a beading needle. The stalks will be supplied, but you will learn how to harvest and prepare them for this straw art. The term himmeli derives from the Scandinavian and German word “himmel” meaning sky or heaven. |
