MSHSL Regional Art Competition and Exhibit in Battle Lake
The 2026 Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Regional Art Competition will feature an exhibition this March in the Art of the Lakes Gallery in Battle Lake. Approximately 90 students from high schools surrounding the area will showcase their work in a variety of categories. Participating schools include Battle Lake,
Brandon/ Evansville, Hillcrest, Morris, Osakis, Parker’s Prairie, Underwood, and West Central Area.

The exhibition features 133 total works of art in categories including watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, pottery, sculpture, pastel, fiber, and other. The best works in each category will receive an award and will go on to the State Competition in Wayzata, MN.

The Regional Exhibition will be open to the public Saturdays from 11am to 3pm, and Sundays from noon to 4pm, from March 1 through March 22.

On Friday March 27, participating students will spend an Arts Day at sites throughout downtown Battle Lake, experiencing classes and demonstrations, capped by an awards ceremony and closing reception at the Art of the Lakes Gallery.

High School Students' Regional Arts Day - Lunch Options
Students and teachers attending the March 27 Regional Arts Day in Battle Lake have some options for lunch.
  • Bring a bag lunch.
  • Drop in to the Battle Lake Senior Center for lunch ($9). No need to pre-order.
  • Pre-order a box lunch from NeverBetter and pre-pay online ($12.95). Orders must be placed by March 25 at 5 pm. Orders will be ready for pickup after 11:30 am on Friday March 27.
