The following items must be agreed to for participation in the Prairie Lakes Plein Air Competition 2024. Read all participation rules. You will agree to these rules when you register.
1. Authentication must be presented with location, by submitting a photograph with the entry, and of the entry in situ. Upload your image authentication here. 2. Entries must be created in Otter Tail County, MN. At least 90% of the painting must be produced outdoors, on location, and in the spirit of Plein Air. No classwork, please. 3. Registered artists agree to respect private property owners (by securing permission to go onto their property) and public lands (by following the use regulations of the various land management agencies, i.e. obtaining necessary use permits, staying on designated roads and trails, etc.). 4. Attach a label to the back of your artwork. Please include your name, the painting's title, the price of your work, and your phone number. 5. All paintings must be framed and have wire on the back for hanging. Maximum artwork size not to exceed 24” x 30” including the frame. Competiton Class can submit up to three (3) framed paintings for competition. Open class may submit one (1) painting. 6. All PLPA artwork displayed in the AOTL Gallery must be for sale and will be subject to a 30% commission to AOTL & 70% to the artist. This includes the quick paint and artwork sold prior to the Awards Banquet if they will be included in the competition. 7. Checks for the sale of artwork will be mailed within a month of the closing of the PLPA gallery show. 8. Images of artists and artwork produced during the Prairie Lakes Plein Air Competition 2024 may be used in publicity (website, posters, advertisements, etc.) 9. All artists must fill out and submit the artwork intake form with the entries online. Due at the gallery by Thursday, August 22, 2024 by 12 PM. Earlier is better. 10. Liability Release: I, the undersigned artist, release Art of the Lakes and all related volunteers from any liability claims that might arise because of accident or injury to myself or damage or theft of my artwork during all Prairie Lakes Plein Air Competition 2024 activities from June 22 through August 24, 2024. |
