Workshops
Over a dozen workshops are scheduled into this summer's schedule and we've got something for everyone. Acrylic painting and silkscreen printing classes for youth on up. Hardanger Embroidery is a treasured artform rarely available and now you can learn it for yourself! For those who are looking for a more social environment, get registered for an evening to Paint & Sip at ABC Brewing in Battle Lake. There's also a number of watercolor workshops for you artists looking to up your game. And so much more so go check them out and register early. These classes are already beginning to fill up! Prairie Lakes en Plein Air
Back again due to popular demand, our Prairie Lakes en Plein Air Festival will begin June 18 and run through the summer. Outdoor painters from throughout the Midwest are invited to come to our beautiful part of the state and discover it in their artistry. Compete for prize money and so much more. We also have a number of informal Paint Outs planned throughout the area so be sure you're on our mailing list to get updates as they develop. Studio Tour
Last year's studio tour was record breaking both in attendance and artist participation. We're expecting this year's event to be equally impressive. We've got forty-seven participating artists working hard to be ready for this summer's highlighted event, July 15-17. Be sure to plan this one into your summer schedule. It's not to be missed. The summer wouldn't be complete without a lazy August Saturday meander at an art fair. And our Art and Craft Affair is just what fills the bill. Every year, the 2nd Saturday in August we turn Railroad Park into a lively art buyers mecca with vendors coming from throughout the region. Here you'll find handcrafted jewelry, gifts, and prized items for your cabin and home. Join us this year! |
Making Art Happen
Art of the Lakes is an association of artists and art lovers centered in Battle Lake, Minnesota. We promote interest in the visual arts, sponsor art exhibits, stimulate art appreciation among children, and encourage emerging artists of all ages. We promote the visual arts by providing an attractive space for artists to exhibit and sell their work, offering quality art instruction to people of all ages, and by encouraging community engagement through the visual arts. Volunteer Organization Art of the Lakes is a volunteer organization. Volunteers serve as the Board of Directors, officers and committee chairs. In addition, display artists work in the gallery throughout the year, and supporting members volunteer when needed to keep the gallery in good working order. Membership Organization We are a membership organization with over 125 members currently. Our membership is comprised of both displaying artists and lovers of art who support the gallery through membership. |
