It's a new year and time to decide where you want your 'art journey' to take you! As you ponder that thought, be sure to add the 2024 Studio Tour to your journey list. It's time to start preparing - registration opens soon.

For the past 15 years, the Art of the Lakes Studio Tour has provided a way for our member artists to increase their art sales and connect with art enthusiasts in the area. Fifteen successful years, thanks to you!

Attendees of the Studio Tour truly value visiting with artists and viewing artwork in their studios. This is why the Studio Tour is so popular. For artists who don't have a suitable home studio in the region but still want to be part of the Tour, we'll find a venue for you.

Let's make this a record year. Mark your calendars -- registration will open online on February 1.

Top priority items
  • Ceramics: high-quality kiln, potter wheels, clay-working tools, work turntables, clay and glazing supplies
  • Fiber: looms, sewing machines, storage bins, shelving, fiber materials
  • Reception: welcome desk, supportive office chair, visitor seating, coffee & end tables, lamps, area rug

Sunday Socials in Full Swing
This Winter

Every Sunday 2-4 pm

Sunday Socials are in full swing, now that the holidays are over and winter has really set in. Please join us at the gallery each Sunday from 2-4 pm.

Members and non-members are welcome! Bring your project and join in conversation around the table. It doesn’t matter what your art form is, just bring it and relax with us.

We've had good attendance at the Sunday Social Fiber Group that meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month. We're wondering if each Sunday should have a focus… maybe photography, collage and assemblage, painting, sketching, etc. Would you be interested in helping with a Sunday Social that interests you?

It's a great time to talk about your art, share tips and techniques, and get inspired and motivated. Let me know your thoughts: Donna Westerling, [email protected] or 612-386-2868.

See you at the Social!

Dar Eckert and Kristi Swee Kuder have created a joint art installation for FLUX - Artists Collaboration Exhibition, at the LRAC Main Gallery in Fergus Falls, MN.

FLUX draws attention to the artists' interest in the esthetics of the discarded, and how the material world flows in and out of our lives into an everlasting detritus.

The installation will be on display from January 8 - March 14, with a reception Tuesday, January 16 from 5:30-7 pm.
