Winter Activities in the Gallery
Picture
The Art of the Lakes gallery in downtown Battle Lake is a great place to shop and gather in November and December. This year, we also plan to have some special activities throughout the winter months.

Holiday Market on Now
Many of our talented artist members have created new pieces just for the holidays, available for sale until December 16. We're open Fridays and Saturdays, 10-5, so put us on your shopping list! Member
Sue Kalseim came up with the holiday decor this year; come in and see the tree! (Artists: You can still bring in art items you have for the holidays and we'll help with barcoding.)

Holiday Open House Dec. 2
A Holiday Open House will be held in the gallery December 2. Stop by that day to have a little treat and enjoy some holiday cheer! And be sure to register for our gift basket door prize, with a drawing to be held on December 15.  (Do you have anything you can donate to the basket? If so, contact the gallery.)

Sunday Socials Starting Nov. 26
New this winter is the Sunday Social, beginning November 26, 2023 from 2 pm to 4 pm. We'll plan to meet in the gallery each Sunday through the winter months. The Sunday Social will be a time to see your artist friends, and meet new ones. Bring your art or craft and share your ideas over coffee or hot chocolate. This is open to anyone, so bring your creative friends and join us. The more, the merrier!

Community Art Exhibit
After the gallery closes its retail shop for the season, we plan to hold special exhibits in this beautiful space during the winter months. The first exhibition will be a Community Art Exhibit, with a Call for Art going out soon to the community of Battle Lake and surrounding areas.

See you in the gallery this winter!

Gallery Representatives Still Needed
A reminder to displaying artist members: If you haven't signed up for your 2023 gallery shifts, we need you! There are still eight shifts open in November and December. If you're unable to complete your shifts, you have the option of paying another member to work for you. Please contact the gallery and talk to Debbie or Donna.

AOTL at the Battle Lake Craft Fair
Picture
Art of the Lakes will have a table at the upcoming Battle Lake Craft Fair, held at the Battle Lake Public School on December 2, 2023 from 9 am to 3 pm.

Come see us for information on membership, upcoming classes and events. We'll also be selling holiday / winter note cards and other paper art.

Artists: If you have items that you want to display at the Fair, please bring them to the gallery by Sunday Nov 26. They should be priced/ barcoded, so they're ready to go.

To help out at this event or any others, please contact Donna Westerling at 612-386-2868.

Volunteers Light Up
Jack-o-Lantern Jubilee
Picture
Many thanks to Annie Capistrant and Jammie Niemeyer for volunteering at this year's LACC Jack-o-Lantern Jubilee. Annie’s sister and daughter also volunteered to help. Mary Jo Wentz came up with Art of the Lakes' craft offering this year and did a lot of prep work for it.

The Jubilee is an afternoon of fun, free activities for the kids.

Volunteers rock! Thank you!

Artist Opportunity: Mural Painting
First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake is looking for an artist who would be interested in painting a mural on their classroom walls.  For more information, please contact Missy Abfalter 320-333-7461.
